Josh Mejia is a results-oriented strategic leader with over nine years of combined experience in the fields of economic development, marketing and government relations. Prior to working in Brownsville, Texas, Josh Mejia was the Director of Government Relations for Pivot Group in Tyler, Texas and was involved in several key transportation and economic development projects throughout the northeast and southern regions of Texas. Josh Mejia also served as a Business Operations Manager for Apple, Inc. in Austin, Texas where he was involved in the successful expansion strategies for the Apple Austin Campus which included the recruitment and training of over five hundred bilingual employees in Apple's AppleCare and K-12 Support Division
Josh Mejia is a specialist in both "type a" and "type b" economic development organizations in Texas which oversee projects impacting the quality of life of a community, industrial/commercial development, and capital recruitment. Josh Mejia has been recognized by federal and state agencies for implementing successful ecosystem building strategies that revolve around human capital and entrepreneurship. Josh Mejia is also a member of the National Small Business Association, the Texas Economic Development Council and International Economic Development Council (IEDC). Recipient of IEDC's 2020 Young Economic Development Professional of the Year and the 2021 DCI 40 Under 40 award.
